11 Nov '08 - 170 users connected to PTAWUG - milestone reached - we are hoping to be 200 by February next year.
25 Oct '08 - Die Wilgers highsite up and running, linked to Lynnwood, Constantia Park and Silverton highsites. All the users that connected to Faerie Glen will now be able to connect again. Thanks a lot to all 17 people that came to help lift the tower and install the wifi kit.
22 Oct '08 - Dual nstreme2 full duplex link up between Lynnwood and Constantia Park highsites. First SA wug to install a dual nstreme link (come on JAWUG and CTWUG).
07 Oct '08 - Pretoria-Centurion link up again. The Moot highsites connected to the rest of the network after some downtime.
14 Sep '08 - Raslouw Highsite operational - covering Rooihuiskraal, The Reeds, Raslouw, Eldoraigne, Amberfield and surrounds on 5.8ghz.
13 Sep '08 - New Waterkloof Glen Highsite up and running. Lynnwood has been put back as well.
18 Aug '08 - Magalies Highsite now linked with Faerie Glen - All Highsites north of the Magalies mountain now linked to the rest of the wug.
16 Aug '08 - Welcome to all ex-PWP members on PTAWUG, hawkeye (now Irene Highsite) linked to PTAWUG. The future looks good for the Pretoria Wireless Users Group.
16 Aug '08 - Zwartkop Highsite operational on 5.8ghz, covering central Centurion, parts of Valhalla and Irene.
9 Aug '08 - Mooikloof highsite 5.8 omni antenna operational - Mooikloof and surrounds now covered.
2 Aug '08 - Erasmusrand Highsite online, linked to Faerie Glen and providing coverage to the north western part of Centurion on 5.8ghz.
1 Aug '08 - IP changeover to 172.20.x.x range. All current users please rescan for the new ssid and connect on IRC and request your new IP.
26 July '08 - Lynnwood highsite upgraded with backbone grid to Mooikloof as well as another riser card.
19 July '08 - Silverton Highsite up and running on 5.8ghz, covering Silverton and parts of Meyerspark.
16 July '08 - Added another 5.8ghz sector on Constantia Park facing north to relieve the load on the current sector.
No speed limits!
There are no speed limits, this means you can transfer as fast as your hardware and signalstrength allows you to.
No Cap!
Transfer as much data as your hardware allows, on typical network conditions this is between 8gb and 50gb per day.
Gaming!
Dedicatated 24\7 servers running for CSS, COD4 , Live For Speed, BattleField 2142 etc.
Non-profit community network
There are no monthly or membership fees, as the network is entirely built by the community for the community.
